Early Spring Wedding Flowers at The Parlour at Mann’s Chapel in Chapel Hill, NC
A March Wedding Welcoming Spring in North Carolina
There are some weddings that just stay with you. Sydney and Ryan’s March celebration at The Parlour at Mann’s Chapel was one of those quietly joyful days that reminds me why I love weddings and early spring flowers.
We designed the wedding flowers for Sydney and Ryan’s March celebration at The Parlour at Mann’s Chapel, focusing on seasonal early spring blooms and a garden-inspired, European feel.
A Spring Brunch Wedding at The Parlour at Mann’s Chapel
Late March can be a weather wild card in North Carolina, but Chapel Hill locals Sydney and Ryan were graced with a sun-drenched day on the brink of spring (granted with a lot of pollen in the air).
It was the first truly warm weekend of the season, and while the landscape was still mostly bare, The Parlour at Mann’s Chapel overflowed with life.
The couple chose a Sunday brunch wedding date for a European backyard garden feel. The Parlour’s blend of historic aesthetic with intimate spaces created a celebration that felt fresh yet timeless.
Faith and family were central to this event and it was evident in the relaxed family atmosphere punctuated by sacred personal moments.
Citrus and Blue Wedding Flowers for Early Spring in NC
Sydney’s color palette was a joyful mix of pastel citrus with pops of spring blue and violet—a combination that felt bright but grounded.
To create an about-to-bloom spring look, we filled the chapel with seasonal branches, climbing vines and fragrant bulb flowers that echoed the outdoor hints of new beginnings.
We mixed our farm-grown ranunculus, anemones, tulips, and fancy narcissus with bright poppies, hyacinths and hellebores for the heart of Sydney’s bouquet —all early spring blooms celebrating everyone’s excitement for spring’s arrival.
Early spring weddings like this are especially well-suited to seasonal, farm-grown flowers, which is why many couples who want custom onsite installations like this choose our full service wedding flowers.
Garden-Inspired Ceremony Flowers at The Parlour at Mann’s Chapel
At the altar, we created a living spring backdrop on the Parlour at Mann’s Chapel’s antique mirror with smilax vine and fluttering blooms framing the altar like the first butterflies of spring.
Four tiny flower girls, each wearing green and white flower crowns with trailing ribbons, gleefully tossed handfuls of flower petals on the creaking warm wood plank floors.
Sydney’s lush garden-inspired bridal bouquet captured the full vibrancy of March flowers—both delicate and abundant. The bouquet’s color and movement from wandering tulip blooms contrasted beautifully with her layered lace and tulle gown and fair complexion.
The bridesmaids in sage green and the groomsmen with matching ties, added an evergreen feel to the color-charged wedding florals.
Reception Flowers and Bud Vase Design for a Spring Wedding
Photographer Katie Stoltz beautifully balanced the intimate chapel space, abundant kid energy and bright early season light with the sweet emotion of the day. Hearty laughter and misty eyes were frequent companions.
Outside beneath the tent and twinkle lights, the spring aesthetic continued with a blooming sweetheart table and tailored settee anchored by whimsical floral meadow boxes overflowing with garden color while a scrambling smilax vine climbed the Parlour’s rustic barn door patio backdrop.
Cheerful bridesmaid bouquets and mixed bud vases dotted the guest and buffet tables, where even the dessert table—a tower of glazed doughnuts instead of cake—carried playful touches of color.
Extended family and friends lingered over a custom coffee bar and Southern-style burger brunch as a guest-sourced musical playlist drifted through the courtyard while kids buzzed about.
A Chapel Hill Family-Filled Wedding with Garden-Style Florals
From the couple’s deeply personal hidden-garden “first touch” to the laughter that filled the Parlour at Mann’s Chapel patio, Sydney and Ryan’s day radiated true joy, hope, and promise.
As the celebration wound down, guests gathered blooms from a makeshift flower bar, carrying a piece of the day’s beauty home with them—a fitting close to a wedding that felt like the true start of spring.
